The article examines the author's orientation towards the reader's perception, representative of ”anonymous” works – texts whose authors deliberately conceal their names from the public, turning anonymity into a game element with the addressee. One of the ”best sellers” of Pushkin's time – a novel by a ”secondary” Russian writer D. Begichev – ”Kholmsky family” – has been chosen as a object of this research.
