The reading experience in «Doctor Zhivago»

The article describes the way the motif of reading functions in the narrative structure of Pasternak's novel. The heroes' reading experience (first of all, Yuri Zhivago's) is considered from the viewpoint of its inclusion into the aesthetic and philosophical context of the novel. It constitutes a form of «spiritual work» that helps overcome death and an important way of interaction between man and life.
