"What will comrade Bolshakov show us today?": post-war problems of the Ural cinema distribution in the context of the Stalinist cinema policy

The article is devoted to the key results of cinema policy of the Soviet state during the period of the «late Stalinism». It is focused on the influence of «Stalin’s low number of movies» on cinema distribution process in the Ural region. The problem of widespread use of the so-called «trophy cinema» in the conditions of internal film production’s crisis is investigated. The phenomenon of the divergence between the official proposals and audience demand for film production during the post-war period is under research. Basic conclusion is drawn on the reasons and consequences of deformation of Soviet cinema structure which are interpreted as causing each other results of the decisions of the party authorities.
