Digital economy of Russia based on artificial intelligence: perspective directions of regional research

The national program “Digital Economy of the Russian Federation” needs to be amended in accordance with the recently adopted “National Strategy for the Development of Artificial Intelligence for the period until 2030”. Rethinking the functions of the digital economy should be accompanied by adjustments to planned research. To date, such work has not been completed. Therefore, the aim of the study was to identify the most promising areas of research into the regional digital economy of Russia in the context of artificial intelligence. Five traditional approaches have been identified that need to be transformed taking into account the specifics of the functioning of artificial intelligence. It is shown that there is a need to develop new approaches that allow the use of artificial intelligence algorithms for regional analysis of the distribution and interaction of economic agents in artificial intelligence environment.
