In the digital economy, market leaders are companies that can quickly change their business models. To survive in the market and remain competitive, they must identify ways to optimize internal business processes in order to reduce costs and increase revenue. The condition for ensuring the competitiveness of small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) is the use of the entire Arsenal of tools available to them, such as modern technologies, innovations, quality of goods and services, and management efficiency. Thanks to digitalization, SMEs can improve their competitiveness, be able to make quick decisions and secure their identity compared to other market participants, as well as learn more about support measures. The article discusses the prospects for the development of small and medium-sized businesses in the digital economy. As a result of the research, Modern aspects of the digital transformation of small and medium-sized businesses and their impact on competitiveness were analyzed, and conclusions were drawn about the readiness of Russian small and medium-sized businesses for digital transformation.
