Digital transformation of economics: influence on crime and issues of crime prevention

Introduction: the article reveals the processes of the digital economics in the Russian Federation, conducts a statistical analysis of empirical data disclosed crimes, committed the use of information and telecommunication technologies, identifies issues related to ensuring security, studies the positive experience of the regions in countering certain types of cybercrimes. Materials and Methods: the author’s recommendations and suggestions were based on the studies of the statistics of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia on the state of crime, reports of leading monitoring and protection companies in Russia for the period from 2013 to October 2019. The methodological basis of this academic research consisted of general and particular academic methods of cognition, as well as generalization and interpretation of empirical data. Results: the article substantiated the need to develop effective measures to minimize crimes committed using information and telecommunication technologies, analyzed the issues of ensuring information security and the multiple episodes of socially dangerous acts. Discussion and Conclusions: the author considers the need to develop special academic based and logically structured measures for the implementation of the preventive activities of high-tech crime.
