Digital currency in the financial system of the Russian Federation

The article reveals the stages of development of digital currencies, their adoption by large ones at the international level and, in particular, by Russia. Having a high potential for the development of digital currencies, with structured and effective regulation, Russia has a high chance of becoming a world leader in the field of digitalization. Despite the existing potential for the development of digital currencies in Russia, there are a number of fundamental issues such as the establishment of a clear conceptual framework and classification of digital currencies, the regulation of mining, the creation and regulation of crypto exchanges, taxation on transactions with digital currencies, the development of measures to reduce risks from transactions with digital currencies.
