Digitalization of the economy in Russian regions

The widespread integration of digital technologies in various spheres of life has become a trend in the development of modern society. Nowadays, digital technologies surround people from all sides: they increase the efficiency of human activity in the workplace, make everyday life more convenient and comfortable, are the perfect helpers for education, transport, health and many other areas. At the moment digital technologies are one of the most important drivers of innovative development of countries around the world. This article considers the increasing role of digitalization processes in the context of the economic system of Russian regions. The main advantages and disadvantages of digitalization of the economy in general are identified and analyzed. This paper analyses world rankings characterizing countries by various indicators of digitalization, as a result of which the current position of Russia compared to other countries of the world is determined. Real examples demonstrating how digitalization processes take place in different Russian regions are considered. Key economic benefits from the introduction of various digital technologies in Russian regions are identified. The significance of integration digital technologies in the economy and the improvement of digital infrastructure for the economic development of Russia in modern conditions is confirmed.
