The article examines how the digitalization of Russia’s economy in 2020–2025 has reshaped university educational programs. It demonstrates that the rapid growth of digital technologies and the IT market in this period led to increased demand for digital skills and IT specialists, which in turn spurred the expansion of IT training, the integration of new digital competencies into curricula, and the adoption of new learning formats. Based on statistical data and studies by HSE, Rosstat and other sources, the article analyzes key trends: the increase in enrollment and graduation of IT majors, implementation of the federal project “Human Resources for the Digital Economy,” the launch of “digital departments,” incorporation of digital skills across all academic programs, as well as the transition of universities to blended and online learning formats. It is concluded that the digitalization of the economy has set a new vector for higher education development aimed at building human capital for the digital economy.
