Cost management digitalization as a key competitive factor small transport and logistics companies

In the context of economic instability caused by external factors, such as the coronavirus pandemic and international sanctions, the Russian transport industry is facing serious challenges. These circumstances negatively affected production and logistics processes, causing the need for a radical revision and in the shortest possible time of company development strategies. The purpose of the study is due to the interest in analyzing the adaptation abilities and features of the development of transport companies in recent years, due to external factors and the need for digital transformation of the economy, as well as the development of recommendations for improving the performance of small transport companies. In the course of the work, the tasks were set: to study the impact of external factors on the transport industry, analyze current trends in logistics and their impact on small businesses, assess the level of digitalization of management in transport companies, develop recommendations for improving logistics processes and introducing innovative technologies. The study is based on official statistics and methodological approaches to assess the effectiveness of logistic transformations. As a result of the analysis, key trends in the development of the transport and logistics sector were identified, as well as a significant increase in the size of small enterprises in the face of growing competition and consumer needs. Finally, for the successful development of small transport companies, it is recommended to introduce alternative logistics schemes, automate key processes, revise tariff policies, and develop partnerships with other market participants. Support from government programs can significantly accelerate the development of local logistics solutions and attract investment in the sector. Companies that are ready to adapt to change will be able to take a leading position in the market, taking advantage of digital technologies and a client-oriented approach.
