Digital ruble in the system of ensuring the financial security of the state

This article is dedicated to the analysis of the role of the digital ruble as a tool for strengthening the financial security of the Russian Federation. It examines the conceptual foun-dations of creating a third form of the national currency, its advantages and risks for various economic entities. Special attention is paid to the potential of the digital ruble in counteracting shadow financial flows and the illegal circulation of cryptocurrencies. Legal barriers to the inte-gration of the digital ruble into the budget process are analyzed, including the unpreparedness of government bodies and the inability to pay taxes and other mandatory fees and state duties in digital form. The prospects of a phased transition of the economy to large-scale use of the central bank's digital currency are explored. A conclusion is made about the strategic importance of the project for strengthening monetary sovereignty amid sanctions pressure.
