Digital technologies as an innovative driver for agricultural development

The article updates the role and resulting significance of digitalization and the introduction of digital technologies in the agricultural sector. It is shown that the active introduction of digital technologies in agriculture contributes to the successful implementation of the strategy of innovative development and increasing the level of economic efficiency of agricultural production. Digital technologies effectively used by foreign farmers in agriculture are examined in detail. The main advantages of using digital technologies are presented in three conceptual aspects: within the framework of technological potential, economic efficiency and environmental sustainability. The authors explore the key problems and prospects for using blockchain technology in agriculture. It is summarized that the transition to digital and innovative agriculture requires the use of an integrated (systemic) approach, which should include measures for technological updating, the introduction of educational initiatives and the development of digital infrastructure. The active implementation of digital technologies will contribute to the achievement of strategic goals in the field of food supply for the population, ecological balance of the environment and social development of rural territorial entities.
