Digital technologies in elective processes as a challenge to democratic perspectives

The author stresses that political system as a whole, will undergo a powerful transformative effect as a part of the process of further integration into the digital society and the integration of the latest information analytical tools and technology in everyday political reality. If these trends continue, we are in the initial phase of changing political reality. Its main factor today is that technology has once again seriously surpassed in its development the existing political culture and the most common political practices in society. In this perspective, the question of democracy is particularly acute. Within its framework, the huge potential of big data, analytics and online forums will be used to strengthen it or to destroy it. In such conditions, society should take a close look at the use of these technologies, since the regulatory institutions of the modern political system do not have the proper structure to protect the masses from manipulating and abusing the technologies used by people seeking power. If we cannot solve these problems, the so-called political nihilism is coming, which is capable of very seriously destabilizing the political environment at the civilizational level.
