Soviet Far East in the films of Alexey Kusheshvili

The article is devoted to the visual heritage of Alexey Kusheshvili, one of the first film chroniclers of the history of the Soviet Far East. The author examines his biography and filmography, and focuses on the analysis of his two film essays - «Chita - Sakhalin» and «The road to Taiga», which were created in 1930 and perfectly reflect the features of the Soviet film narrative about the evolution of the Far Eastern territories during the cultural and economic transformations of the 1920s and 1930s.
