Product wear and temperature sensor on the basis of fiber optical sensitive element

In work the fiber optical sensor of wear and temperature of a product at friction is described. The method of determination the wear of electric motor brushes with use of the fiber optical technologies based on multiplication the response of Bragg’s fiber lattice (BFL) and long-period lattice was offered. Besides the wear it is possible to take measurements of temperature of a brush, speed of turns of the engine, to exercise control of density of adhering a brush to electric motor rotor (to define brush “rebound” from lamels). The sensitive element is built directly in a controlled product. Information on sensor length change is used for wear measurement, and the provision of the central wavelength - temperature. In work results of modeling and experimental data are presented.
