Debate as a modern method of teaching English to students of the course “Tourism”

Tourism is one of the most popular courses among the students. Working in the tourism industry a person must have professional skills and a high level of knowledge of the English language. While applying theoretical knowledge to practice, some complications occur to the students. The purpose of the article is to pay attention of the teachers to the pedagogical technology “Debate” and to point out the importance of the usage this modern pedagogical method for fluency in English by the students of the course “Tourism”. In the article there is narrow consideration of the debate’s process, while drawing on it, the English teachers will be able to adapt this technology to their objects and aims. It is a general method of the education for a lot of professions. The effectiveness of its usage while vocabulary training of the students of the course “Tourism” is shown in the article. From the existent variety of this technology, Karl Popper’s debate format was chosen as a proper method for vocabulary training of the students of this course. The usage of this format will support to achieve great results not only in not only in mastering vocabulary but in the development of the communication skills for the successful work in the travel industry.
