Degradation of the settlement network and group systems of populated areas of the Komi Republic in the post-soviet period: causes and consequences

The paper considers the post-Soviet transformation of the settlement network and local settlement systems of the Komi Republic. The dynamics of the number and population of settlements and group systems of settlements in the region are analyzed in the context of increasing negative socio- economic and demographic processes in the post-Soviet period. The causes and consequences of the degradation of the settlement network and group systems of settlements in the Komi Republic are revealed.
