Activity D. R. Yuryeva in estimates of domestic historians of the middle - second half of the XX century

The author highlights the political and military activities of one of the prominent representatives of theYuriev-Zakharyin family - Daniil Romanovich - in the assessments of famous domestic historians of the second half of the 20th century. Mention of him in the writings of scientists of previous times are rare. The author aims to study the Soviet historiographical heritage regarding the activities of D. R. Yuriev, during the reign of Ivan IV. The object of this work is the historiography of Russian history in the mid-16th century, and the subject is the views of historians of the Soviet era, mainly on the administrative and military activities of D. R. Yuriev. The article analyzes the judgments of researchers about the main career milestones of D. R. Yuriev. The conclusion is substantiated that in Soviet historiography the views on the role of D. R. Yuriev surrounded by Ivan IV did not differ in consensus. Historians noted that D. R. Yuriev enjoyed the confidence of Grozny, they wrote about Daniil Romanovich as a boyar of a closer duma, the regent under Tsarevich Ivan. Although Daniil Romanovich was able to maintain a high position until his death. Researchers did not include this representative of a prominent Staromoskovsk boyar surname among the political leaders of the mid-16th century.
