The article discusses amateurism as a social and cultural phenomenon of national art culture, historical facts of Russian amateurism development, specific features of the musical amateurism functioning in terms of studio practices are highlighted, organizational and pedagogical conditions of common cultural competences formation among amateur associations participants are identified.
