The article is devoted to the activities of socio-professional communities engaged in social work and social assistance. One of the main directions of social assistance is the support of fighters participating in a special military operation (SVO) of Russia in Ukraine. Their activities are based on the tactics of small affairs, and in the structure of their activities, as a rule, the role of a charismatic initiative leader is important. Socially protective socio-professional communities provide support to mothers and fathers with children, disabled people and other people who find themselves in difficult situations. They complement state social assistance and solve the problem of excessive formalism in the activities of workers in this field.
