Activities of the Soviet border control in the Far East of Russia (late 1930's - early 1940's)

The article deals with the activities of the border troops in the Far East of the USSR, which were concerned with the control over the established rules of entrance to the territory of the Soviet Union and departure from it, import and export of freights, as well as fight with contraband goods under the pressure of severe military and political situation in the region. The author discusses the issues arising during execution of the powers by the border divisions, and the measures taken by the country leaders and departments on quality improvement of the reliability of the border control in the Far East borders of the USSR.
