Activities of trading companies in supplying peasants in the south of the Russian Far East with agricultural machinery in the late XIX -early XX centuries

The paper examines the role of trading firms operating in the Russian Far East in supplying peasants with agricultural machinery and implements. Based on various historical sources, the author analyzed the peculiarities of the development of the agricultural economy and the peasant population of the region. Furthermore, the author examines the forms and methods of entrepreneurial activity of business representatives in supplying agricultural implements and machinery to peasants. In addition, it is noted that large trading companies have cooperated with the regional administration to improve the technical equipment of agricultural farms. They were engaged in charitable activities to support the resettlers. The author notes that these activities had a positive impact on increasing the productivity of the peasant economy, contributed to the resettlement policy of the Russian authorities and generally played a positive role in the economic redevelopment of the region.
