The relevance of this article lies in the fact that weapons of mass destruction, as well as the technologies for its creation and transportation in the modern world continue to improve. The scientific article discusses confirmed cases of the use of chemical and bacteriological weapons by countries. It is concluded that it is necessary to improve the existing export control regimes, to put into practice the fundamental principles enshrined in international agreements on the non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction. The increased tension in the world increases the likelihood of a conflict using nuclear weapons, which requires immediate balanced decisions on a categorical prohibition of their use at the interstate level.
