The demographic factor as a foundation for modernising Russia

The article considers the interrelation of demographic dynamics and social and economic development of the country. In the first decade of the 21st century there have been some positive shifts in principal indicators of natural reproduction of population - in death and birth rates. The author shows the core problems solving which would allow increasing the human potential of Russian citizens, and linked it to the rising need to changing the paradigm of social policies.
