Demographic development of the Komi Republic and the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia): general and special

The paper is devoted to demographic situation in two large northern regions of Russia which, on the one hand, is characterized by a number of general regularities for the North, on the other - differs by its own specifics. Peculiarities of the level and structure of mortality of the population of the Republics Komi and Sakha (Yakutia), quantitative and qualitative aspects of birth rate are considered. The near-term prospects of demographic development are estimated. Priorities of regional demographic policy are defined.
