Damping of thin shells vibrations by layered coatings

In the paper a new cost-effective way of damping vibrations of thin shells by the use of multi-adhesive elastomeric coatings is proposed. Investigation of changes in natural frequencies and decrements of the vibrations was carried out using an original method based on record vibration acceleration means a personal computer (microphone and sound card) with subsequent processing of the digital file.
