Denotative zones of usage of color naming «white» in Old French texts

The article is dedicated to the research of colour words in old French literary texts. The most frequently used colour term blanc was chosen for the analysis. It was revealed that semantic meanings and spheres of the usage of the white colour depend on the gender factor. The denominations of the white colour take part in creating the image of a man and a woman, reflect their features and inner characteristics that are considered to be typical in the medieval world image.
