Features of the spatial development of the national economy

The article discusses issues related to the spatial development of the country. Effective spatial development is one of the conditions for achieving national goals, in particular, a stable and dynamic economy and improving human well-being. The achievement of these goals is supposed to be through the formation of a certain settlement system and the organization of production. Spatial development management includes the definition of priorities and mechanisms for the development of the territory, which requires an analysis of all existing conditions and factors. The purpose of this article is to review theoretical approaches to spatial development and identify the key determinants of spatial development in Russia. The research was based on methods of analysis and comparison, statistical data analysis, as well as graphical and logical methods. The information and analytical base of the study was made up of normative legal documents regulating strategic planning in the Russian Federation, Spatial Development Strategies (until 2025 and 2030 with a forecast until 2036), materials from periodicals devoted to the problem of spatial development and other sources. The results of the study emphasize the importance of spatial development as an effective tool for implementing state policy and achieving national goals, and can also be used to make recommendations on choosing priority areas for the development of territories, taking into account their specific advantages in providing certain types of resources and advantages of economic and geographical location. Taking into account the influence of spatial development factors will improve the effectiveness of government programs and initiatives.
