Determining factors contributing to the development of the arsonist offender’ personality

The article considers the problem of determining the causal complex of conditions and factors under the influence of which the asocial personality in general and the personality of the arsonist offender in particular is formed. It characterizes the role and place of this issue within the broader scope of criminology. Various groups of factors influencing the formation and development of the arsonist offender’s personality are examined, along with the specific manifestations of criminal traits and qualities in criminal behavior. The prognostic potential of determining these factors in shaping the arsonist offender’s personality is analyzed, emphasizing its utility in crime prevention. The necessity of understanding the fundamental traits of the arsonist offender’s personality types is argued, aiding in the identification of arson suspects. The role and significance of the model information picture of the arson crime is characterized and defined, and one of the elements of this model is a typical complex probabilistic psychophysiological portrait of the arsonist offender.
