Introduction: The article focuses on the possibilities of using diagnostic algorithms to solve problems of forensic technical examination of documents. Their development is based on principles of medical diagnostics that allow differentiating similar objects and phenomena. Materials and Methods: Based on the expert practice analysis the author reveals the most common mistakes in the conduct of diagnostic forensic technical examinations of seal and stamp impressions. The author also analyzes the existing scientific and methodological framework that helps solve diagnostic problems in forensic technical examination of documents. The methodological basis of the conducted research includes general and specific methods of cognition such as system and complex methods, methods of analogy and generalization, classification and modeling. Research results: The author managed to develop diagnostic algorithms of solving some expert problems of forensic technical examination of documents based on marker signs for certain groups of objects as well as to prove the reasonableness of using algorithmic methods in forensic experts’ training, in particular as part of additional professional program in Forensic Technical Examination of Documents...
