Diagnosis of prostate cancer in patients with subthreshold values of total PSA blood

This article presents the results of observation of 215 patients who were divided into 3 groups, according to the values of total PSA blood. In the period from 2012 to 2017, all patients underwent transrectal multifocal biopsy of the prostate under ultrasound guidance, according to the results of which in the first group of 43 patients (total PSA of blood from 2.0 to 3.9 ng / ml), according to the results of histological examination, cancer was detected in 17, in the second group of 113 patients (total PSA of blood from 4.0 to 9.9 ng / ml) in 82 and in the third of 59 people (total PSA of blood from 10.0 ng / ml) - in 51. In patients who did not confirm the oncology process, according to the histological conclusion - hyperplasia and inflammation Alzheimer’s changes in the prostate gland and their combination. Based on the data obtained, a decrease in the threshold value of the total PSA of the blood allows early detection of prostate cancer, which improves the prognosis of treatment.
