The study discusses the intergenerational dialogue in the context of intercultural dialogue. The paper analyzes the definitions of the term ‘generation’ and presents its original interpretation by the author. The research notes that the recognition of cultural diversity ensures the effective enjoyment of human rights in the light of globalization. Intercultural dialogue is a form of heterogeneous culture, which consists of many disparate cultures, including intergenerational culture. The dialogue between cultures should be studied in the multi-generational context because of the acute crisis in modern society (lack of ideology, public idea). The intergenerational dialogue fosters and encourages values (respect, compassion, tolerance), relieves the tension between different generations and helps resolve conflicts for the purpose of culture. The study describes the phenomenon of youth culture and proves the fact that it is exposed to pressure from the dominant culture. The author proposes to build a consensus among generations by means of mass media reviewing the common and distinctive features through the texts of different generations.
