The study substantiates the model of innovations diffusion in the museum field developed by E. Rogers. The author states the specific factors hindering and encouraging the diffusion of innovations in the museums’ world of China. The creation of museums as cultural centers synthesizing tangible and intangible cultural heritage in the PRC is considered as an innovative form of the Chinese culture development.
