The work is based on journalistic research and poetic creations of the representative of the Slavophil direction F.I. Tyutchev. The paper focuses on understanding the problem of the relationship between Europe and Russia in the religious aspect, moreover, these civilizational centers are initially perceived as two components of a single Christian world, as a single historical value. The European beginning is interpreted by Fyodor Tyutchev as a revolutionary one, anti-Christian in its essence. The origin of this is in the fall from Orthodoxy, the reformation, and the Enlightenment. Russia is understood as a state based on Christian principles and moral norms. In this configuration, the conflict between the two principles: revolutionary and Christian - is inevitable. But, according to Fyodor Tyutchev, despite the constant aggression from Europe towards the Orthodox state, history is on Russia's side.
