Wild food plants of southwestern Sakhalin island

Wild food plants of the southwestern part of the island Sakhalin are diverse in terms of species composition and ecological groups. The article presents 104 species of wild food plants belonging to 71 genera and 39 families. Among them there are woody (36 species), semi-woody (5 species), herbaceous (60 species) plants and lianas (3 species). Most species of wild plants belong to heliophytes (60 species) in relation to light and mesophytes (78 species) in relation to moisture. The Red Book of the Sakhalin Region includes 9 species of food plants in the southwestern region of the island Sakhalin (8.7% of the total number of wild plants), 5 of which are included in the Red Book of the Russian Federation.
