The problems of preserving the unique art of artists of the Soviet period of the second half of the 20th century, which is stored in the Dixon Folk Art Gallery, are investigated. Attention is focused on the history of the gallery's creation, its mission, and functions. The village of Dixon, remote from the mainland, dating from the XIX century, associated with the history of the Northern Sea Route, has not only unique natural resources, natural landscape, but also an original traditional culture and artistic heritage. According to the author, modern civilizational transformations require the preservation of the collections of the Dixon Art Gallery (paintings, sculptures created by Soviet artists and sculptors) in a traditional format, as well as their parallel translation into digital form, which will preserve the historical heritage, use in artistic practices, provide access to the treasury of Dixon not only to local residents, but also and the population of Russia.
