Dynamic characteristics of the development of the digital economy of the Ural macroregion

This article presents the key indicators of the development of the territories of the Ural macroregion. The Ural macroregion includes not only regions, but also republics (the Republic of Bashkortostan and the Republic of Udmurtia) and the region (Perm). The sectoral specialization of the economy of the Sverdlovsk region is shown, as well as an analysis of the conditions, trends and prospects for sustainable development of the macroregion. The study shows that the modern spatial policy for the development of industrial regions should provide for the development of the region in relation to the country, and not just as an independent territorial unit. The main trends and prospects for the spatial development of the Ural macroregion are identified: the change in the population in large subjects of the Russian Federation and the inconsistent nature of the general trend in the decline in the population of peripheral territories; reduction of inter-regional socio-economic disparities within the global trend of widening the gap. The article analyzes and concludes that the unification of regions into one macro-region has a positive effect on the main indicators of development.
