This paper presents a review of up-to-date dynamic models of the Earth's magnetosphere - the paraboloid model A2000 and the Tsyganenko model T01. We present calculation results of the magnetospheric magnetic field and analysis of contribution of large-scale magnetospheric currents to the Dst variation for the magnetic storm on 9-11 January 1997. Both models are shown to be in good agreement with measurements, and contribution of the magnetotail current system to Dst is comparable to that of the ring current. At the same time, different models present relative dynamics of magnetospheric current systems in a different way. Differences in profiles of magnetic field variations of different current systems calculated with the use of models A2000 and T01 are determined by the model parametrization.
