Prices and wages dynamics in the Lower Volga region amid the food crisis in 1946-1947

This article is devoted to the policy of central and regional authorities in the time of food crisis in 1946-1947 famine. The author juxtaposes the two interrelated processes: the food prices dynamics and changes of wages for the basic social groups in the Soviet society (workers, clerks, countrymen and intelligenzia), and brings to light the cases and results of conserving rations for the population of Astrakhan, Saratov and Stalingrad Regions in 1946-1947.
