Motion of light capsule with the tether in the extra-atmospheric section of deorbit

In the article authors offer the approach of light capsule descent simulation from low orbit with use tethered systems. The system is modeled by the equations of dynamics of system of many bodies which are joined to each other with elastic connections. Dynamics of motion of such system and parameters of entrance to the atmosphere for various models of interaction between particles of incident flow and cable surface are derived. Influence of aerodynamic and gravitational stabilization on tethered system descent is investigated. Results were compared with descent of a capsule without tether.
