The dynamics of the electoral orientations of the population of Orenburg region for period 1993-2008 have been revealed. The Michigan modes of electoral behavior is applied in order to analyze the dynamics of party orientations, the attitude of electorate to political leaders and the evaluation of political situation. The factors which explain the region's "departure" from "The Red zone" are ascertained.
