Neurocognitive dysfunction is common in patients with carotid stenosis. We evaluated the effect of brain revascularization on the patient’s neurocognitive functions dynamics. The study included 200 patients with stenosis of the internal carotid artery, after carotid endarterectomy. The age of patients, smoking, the presence of COPD, the stroke history affect the recovery of neurocognitive functions. Patients without neurocognitive functions dynamics often had postoperative stroke, and silent ischemic lesions due to MRI data. Neurocognitive tests are an effective method to evaluate the adequacy of brain revascularization. The absence of intracranial microembolism leads to the restoration of human cognitive function.
