The authors have studied the dynamics of main metabolic processes in ontogenesis of potato plants. The content of carbohydrate, nitrogenous and lipid compound was estimated and also the ratio between carbohydrate and nitrogenous metabolites in the leaves of different stages and the roots. It was shown that all organs take part at the tuberization in potato plants and during ontogenesis nitrogenous metabolism predominates in the leaves, but the carbohydrate - in the roots. The induction of tuberization occurs on boundary of budding and beginning of flowering due to drastic redistribution of assimilates: in leaves of lower stages sugars content is increasing but nitrogenous compound - decreasing, in the roots on the contrary sugars content is decreasing but nitrogenous compound - increasing.
