The dynamics of political transformation in the Republic of Bashkortostan

The article analyzes the dynamics of political transformation in the Republic of Bashkortostan from the era of parade of sovereignties to its emergence as a standard region of the Russia, completely integrated in the federal state power hierarchy. The author offers an original periodization of the process of political transformation of the republic. It can be divided into four periods 1) formation of regional authoritarianism, 2) conservation of M. Rahimov’s regime, 3) strengthening of the federal authorities and dismantling of M. Rahimov’s regime, 4) limited authoritarianism of R. Hamitov.
