Growth dynamics of clematis varieties in the Mari El Republic

The growth dynamics of 10 clematis varieties in the conditions of the Botanical Garden-Institute of VSUT (Yoshkar-Ola) was studied. It was found that the intensity of growth depended on weather conditions: in the summer of 2020, growth was more stretched, and in the conditions of a hotter and drier summer of 2021, it was faster. In 2020, most clematis varieties were characterized by a higher final height than in 2021. In both years, 'Mephistopheles' and 'Chaika' began to grow most intensively and in May had the highest height, but 'Hagley Hybrid' plants were the first to reach the final height.
