The current research was started to resolve previously unanswered question related to the location of the Saint Diodor Yur’egorsky’s grave. He was a founder of the Troitsky Yur’egorsky monastery. The collected materials include previously unpublished written documents and archaeological findings that reveal new facts on the history of the main monastery church of the Holy Trinity and its sacred object - the grave of the founder. The analysis of the data shows that the burial of Diodor Yur’egorsky was carried out in accordance with the set of ancient funeral customs, which existed in the Orthodox Russian monasteries since XIV century. The selection of the burial place for Diodor Yur’egorsky speaks of the deep veneration toward the Saint. The veneration started immediately after his death. New details regarding specific features of his mortuary complex were revealed. This complex was built by the monks and remained intact after the closure of the monastery during Yur’egorsky’s parish period.
