Diodore of Tarsus: a foreword to the interpretation of psalm 118

In this article, the author atempts to translate the Foreword to the Interpretation of Psalm 118 of Diodore of Tarsus. In the text, Diodore discusses some peculiarities of the language of the Sacred Scriptures and of his exegetical method. His approach to different interpretive methods is considered, including spiritual, allegorical, and historical exegesis. Te translation is preceded by an introduction, in which the author describes the history of this text and analyses the views of Diodore of Tarsus on the nature of biblical language.
