The article focuses on analyzing communicative actions performed in welcoming speeches in various discourses in German and Russian languages. Considering linguistic and pragmatic means, used by modern speakers, allows determining the logic of current changes in welcoming speech language content as a universal genre of ritualized institutional communication.
