The article attempts to gender reading of the female autobiographical text. The diary of M. Bashkirtseva destroys many gender and genre stereotypes. The formula of woman-creator splits into two poles: the concepts of freedom and creativity are the periphery of the concept man and do not interfere with cognitive sphere of female.
