As a result of what happened in 1917 During the Great Russian Revolution, a bloody Civil War broke out on the territory of the former Russian Empire. This war rolled like a roller through the destinies of millions of people, putting them before a difficult choice: to accept or not to accept the new power of the Soviets. It was difficult for former officers who began their service in the ranks of the Russian Imperial Army. In this work, the strokes of the biography of Pyotr Pavlinovich Chashchin, ensign of the 4th Yenisei Siberian Rifle Regiment, author of the most interesting diaries telling about the events of the Civil War in Siberia, are filled in. The photo of P.P. Chashchin is published for the first time. In addition, new historical sources that have been deposited in the State Archive of the Krasnoyarsk Territory are being introduced into scientific circulation.
